Chance for Change is dedicated to helping individuals who have been
incarcerated reintegrate into society as positive, productive, and stable citizens.
Our focus is on providing essential support in areas such as employment,
housing, and family connections. We cater to participants who are incarcerated,
on probation or parole, or have a criminal history, addressing key aspects of
personal development, including character, integrity, mental health, and
substance use. We believe in empowering participants to reflect on their self-
worth and the choices they make.
Founded by Felicia Lyons in 2017, a University of Arkansas at Fort Smith alumna
and graduate of the Criminal Justice Program, Chance for Change is a testament
to her passion for public service. Felicia's journey began as an intern in
Washington D.C. and a participant in the first Criminal Justice symposium, where
she also served as captain of her debate team and founded the Criminal Justice
Club. Through these experiences, she forged pathways for many to explore
various aspects of public service, which ultimately inspired her research into
effective re-entry programs.
Under Felicia's leadership as Executive Director, Chance for Change offers a
comprehensive range of services designed not only to aid participants in
changing their current situations but also to transform their mindsets for future
success. Felicia has leveraged her superior relationship and team-building skills
to mentor individuals facing life hardships, enhancing both their lives and the
community at large.
In addition to her work with Chance for Change, Felicia actively contributes to the
community through her involvement with various organizations. She has
supported other re-entry programs and has been instrumental in establishing
new initiatives that serve multiple counties. As a dedicated member of Delta
Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she has held several leadership roles. including
Treasurer and Fundraising Committee Chair. Felicia also serves on the Board of
Directors for the Western Arkansas Ballet as member of Finance Committee,
Center For Arkansas Legal Services and serves as current President of Crawford
County Adult Education Advisory Board.
At Chance for Change, we believe that everyone deserves a second chance, and
with the right support, individuals can and will thrive.

Our Mission
Our mission is to facilitate holistic rehabilitation by addressing the needs of the whole person. We provide opportunities for individuals to achieve mental wellness, recovery, meaningful employment, and education. Through these efforts, we aim to build strong futures, foster safer communities, and reduce recidivism.

Our Vision
Our vision of re-entry is comprehensive and holistic. While stable employment and housing are crucial components, true re-entry goes beyond these essentials. It involves shaping mindsets, instilling hope, and creating opportunities for personal growth. We are committed to empowering individuals to make the necessary changes for a productive and fulfilling life.
